Brief description:
Jesolo Lido Village is a seaside village and residential complex for second homes, designed by Richard Meieron the Adriatic coast of Italy. The project is organised through an integrated architecture–landscape framework, structured around a linear residential building with ground-floor retail defining a central public plaza, and two parallel rows of apartments arranged along a shared system of open space, swimming pool, and landscaped park areas that extend the settlement towards the beach.
Residential units are organised in repetitive modular clusters combining one- and two-bedroom apartments over three levels. Each module is served by a shared external stair and connected to small garden courts at grade, supporting permeability, cross-ventilation, and continuity between private and collective outdoor spaces. The freestanding configuration allows for a controlled alternation of built volumes and open voids, reinforced by a continuous brise-soleil system along the elevations facing the pool and park.
Landscape operates as the primary organisational infrastructure of the village. A calibrated system of paved courts, water features, existing trees, and new planting structures circulation, shared amenities, and visual corridors, establishing a direct spatial relationship with the coastal environment and supporting long-term seasonal use.
Project area: approximately 1,500 sqm
Award: International Dedalo Minosse Award 2007–2008
